Dr Dre accuses his ex-wife of embezzling funds from a recording studio

Dr. Dre and his ex-wife, Nicole Young, are still fighting over the former couple’s huge fortune, and now the legendary rapper is accusing him of stealing money from his recording studio business .

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Dr. Dre and his business advisers are suing Nicole for “stealing” money from accounts at the “Recording One” studio in Sherman Oaks. In the record, a company was formed in 2015 – 13849 Ventura, LLC – for the purpose of operating a recording studio.

The documents say Dr. Dre and his ex-wife were listed with the company for being involved in the “maintenance and control” of its assets. Thus, the company claims to have entrusted Nicole with the authority to draw checks and transfer funds for the company. Now, according to the lawsuit, they claim Ms Young ‘decimated’ the bank account and withdrew $353,571.85. Of course, that was when Dre and Nicole started their divorce proceedings, and it has since been removed from the business trust.

Now they have filed a lawsuit against Dre’s ex-wife, claiming she “seriously” breached her fiduciary duties by “embezzling and stealing money from the (company’s) bank account and using the money for his own personal obligations”.

Interestingly, the lawsuit claims that Nicole violated Penal Code 496, which reads: “Any person who purchases or receives property which has been stolen or which has been obtained in a manner constituting theft or extortion, knowing the property to be stolen or obtained, or who conceals, sells, retains or assists in concealing, selling or retaining any property from the owner…shall be punished with imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year.

As we reported, Dre’s camp provided details of this same situation and LAPD investigated the incident for possible criminal charges.

At this point, it looks like the couple’s legal teams are still at war, and that’s just another argument that could be settled in their ongoing divorce. Our sources say, Nicole – who is being replaced by Samantha Spector – has already returned the money – which was withdrawn from the account while the couple were still married and she had every right to move the money.

Just a divorce battle tactic? !

As we reported, Dr. Dre is now paying child support to his ex-wife while the ex-couple negotiate a final settlement. It looks like this could be a tactic to shake up serious negotiations. The couple are currently battling for a colossal fortune worth almost a billion dollars. The rapper claims his ex-wife signed a prenup that essentially gives him nothing, but she fights him by claiming the deal wasn’t valid.

We broke the story, Dr. Dre was recently ordered to pay his ex-wife nearly $300,000 a month in child support. If you do the math, that’s a whopping $3.5 million a year. The point is clear if the rapper is paying almost the same amount of the disputed money in this lawsuit – ONE MONTH – then why are they fighting over it in the first place?!

Well, as they say…divorce is a…
