Lisette Oropesa has announced a five-year contract with the San Francisco Classical Recording Company

The soprano made the news official on social media, saying: “Cheers! I’m so incredibly happy and grateful to share that this week here in Munich, I recorded my very first solo + orchestra album: a CD full of Mozart concert arias with the magnificent Il pomo d’oro orchestra, conducted by the amazing Antonello Manacorde!!!!!”

She continued, “We worked hard and this project was the culmination of months of preparation. Even with the difficulties of travel, social distancing during the process, masks and all the uncertainties of this time, we managed to create an album that I am so completely proud of. This disc is the first of a series of albums that I will make under my exclusive 5-year contract with the San Francisco Classical Recording Company, which will be published by PENTATONE. I am so honored to be part of this team as an artist and to be able to share many more recording projects with you all as they arise. We have some wonderful ideas in the works, including a special group of Bel Canto albums. It’s the only Mozart project we do, but I’m incredibly happy to have had a rare chance to prepare this repertoire and share it with the world!

The news comes after the soprano watched a recording of Mozart throughout the week on her social media.

PENTATONE confirmed the news saying, “Lisette Oropesa is quite simply one of the best singers, one of the most extraordinary artists active today. We are absolutely thrilled to launch this collaboration. It is an optimistic and hopeful signal in a difficult time. We are also very pleased to be able to develop Lisette’s discography in close collaboration with Job Maarse and the San Francisco Classical Recording Company.
