Sir Mark cut the ribbon at the new facility, which includes a live room and recording studio, at the end of October.

The studio features the latest in music recording technology and new musical instruments, including guitars and full drums.

The £18,000 investment has been funded by an investment fund for young people in need and will be used by young people aged 14-19 who are following vocational programs at Creativity Works.

The offer will also be extended for collective use in the evening.

Sir Mark said: “I have visited this center many times before and I am always encouraged by the effort put in by the whole team to ensure that learners receive the best support and tools needed to complete their training.

“It’s also great that this investment not only benefits students, but budding musicians in Preston as well.”

Steve Egan, CEO of Creativity Works, said: “We are delighted that Sir Mark Hendrick, a long-time supporter of CWP, has found the time to officially open our new facility. We are grateful to Sir Mark and the Youth Investment Fund for placing their trust in the CWP in making the grant.

“We already had a basic set up and now we have set up a professional music studio which will be heavily used by young people in Preston. There was nothing like this in Preston before and you would have had to travel all the way to Manchester to access a professional studio, so we hope local bands and musicians will be able to use these facilities.
